Early philosophers often engaged in debates concerning the nature of humor, posing each other enigmatic questions beginning with “What’s the deal with” and ending with “Am I right?” Indulge in classic rhetoric with today’s GrouponLive deal: for $7, you get one general-admission ticket to a Metro Comedy standup show featuring Kyle Grooms and Vince Barnett on Thursday, July 21, at the GALA Hispanic Theatre (a $15 value). Choose between 7 p.m. or 10 p.m. showtimes. Doors open at 6 p.m. for the first show, and seating is first-come, first-served.

Worldwide Comedy calls on accomplished comedians to entertain audiences in popular venues throughout the East Coast, donating a portion of the proceeds to local nonprofit organization Advocates for Children and Youth. Kyle Grooms, who starred in a Comedy Central standup special and appeared on NBC’s Last Comic Standing, dazzles crowds with his side-splitting commentary on race and his ability to remain vertical during gravity shortages and Vince Barnett cuts into topics such as dating and doctor’s visits with his razor-sharp wit. Between performers, guests can admire the decorative plaster on GALA’s Beaux Arts ceiling or achieve a summery glow by rubbing against the bronze-aluminum coiled drapery covering the venue’s walls.
